At the second interdisciplinary workshop of the IDEATE project students and mentors from Lithuania, Finland, Slovenia and the UK are jointly developing innovative solutions for the Europe of tomorrow. This year they are exploring new possibilities for “Better Access to Quality Food”, they started off in Manchester in February, finishing in Gorica (Slovenia) from March 23 – 27 to present two winning projects. The EU-supported project connects University of Nova Gorica School of Arts (Slovenia), Vilnius Business College (Lithunia), University of Turku (Finland) and the home Staffordshire University, developing an internationally validated entrepreneurship module and a programme of teacher training.

In groups combining artistic innovation, novel business solutions, bio-medicine advancements and applied computing, students are tackling the multifaceted challenge under support of their mentors Peter Purg, Dalia Rimkūnienė, Terhi Heino and Lesley Drumm. The workshop is co-lead by the Slovenian UX guru Mitja Mavsar (D-LABS), while the assessment of project ideas will be supported by Primorska technology park team director Tanja Kožuh and prof. dr. Borut Likar.

V prepletu inovativnosti umetnostnih, podjetniških, bio-medicinskih in računalniških okolij bodo študentje reševali večplastni izziv “Kako do kakovostne hrane za vse ljudi?”.

Borut Likar.
